G&E Music has announced the release of Producer's Toolbox ($249), a two CD-ROM (one audio and one data) sound effects and music package set that contains over 450 sound design elements and 120 musical loops aimed at video editors, composers, sound designers, television producers and multi-media designers. The sounds have been broken into four categories. "Swooshes &whooshes," "hits & stings," "sprinkles & twinkles," beds & drones," and "beats & treats." Each of these categories is further sub-grouped to help the user locate specific sounds easily. The "beats & treats" section of the toolbox contains 40 compositions broken down into three separate files: the beat (just the drum beat), the treat (the music without the drum beat), and the beat and treat (the music with the drum beat, full composition). The user has the freedom to build up the music, break it down, or mix and match. Producer's Toolbox is available exclusively over the web or via phone.
